If you don't indicate otherwise, an invoice for the full amount due will be sent the week following your tournament. If you want an invoice sent earlier, just let us know. We will accept signed purchase orders.
Two payment methods are accepted: check and PayPal. Why are the rates different for the website based on tournament size? The number of entries in the tournament roughly correlates with the traffic that is expected on the website. The larger tournaments require more resources and bandwidth, and the pricing is adjusted to reflect such. What constitutes an entry? An entry is one 'slot' in an event. An individual event competitor is one entry. A debate team is one entry. A cross-entered competitor in multiple events constitutes multiple entries. A tournament that has 30 competitors in US Extemp and 44 Policy teams (88 debaters) would have 74 entries. What if I don't know how many entries to expect on the website? Order the software with your 'best guess.' The pricing will be based entirely on the actual entries, but there are no penalties for having a bad guess up-front. If your estimate is too small, an invoice will be sent for the difference. If your estimate is too large, a refund will be issued for the difference. Do I need to purchase support? If you are using the website portion only, support is included in the purchase price. The support options apply only the PC tabulation software. Whether you should purchase support really depends on your comfort level with computers in general. Many users have successfully used the software at their tournaments and never asked for any assistance whatsoever. If you are familiar with Windows Explorer and/or Internet Explorer and you are relatively comfortable with Windows applications such as Word or Excel, then you will probably be able to use the software without much difficulty. The software does come with extensive documentation (more than 500 pages) available from the 'help' menu. You will probably want to purchase support if you don't have an opportunity to 'play' with the software prior to your tournament. The BY-THE-CALL option is always a possibility, but does not guarantee availability. If you want guaranteed availability, you should purchase support. Is someone available to come help me at my tournament? This is mostly determined by the dates you are interested in. I do travel to a tournament nearly every weekend and will be glad to discuss this possibility with you, but it will depend on a number of factors (e.g. availability, advance notice, and location). If I am not able to attend, there are a number of coaches that may be willing to help you out (again, depending on location and dates). If you are interested in this option, please either call or email so we can discuss the possibilities. Is there an option to have someone come and train on the use of the software? Absolutely. Call or email to discuss possibilities. Can I purchase the website registration without the tabulation software? Yes. The website registration piece works independent of the tabulation software. Several tournaments have used this option. Can I purchase the tabulation software without using the website? Yes. The tabulation software will work independently of the website. Per-tournament licensing spreads out the development costs across many tournaments with the result of providing a better product to every tournament. Can I purchase the software for unlimited use? No.
