Dear Colleagues:

San Jacinto College-North invites you to the TCCFA State Championships, Jan 25-27, 2019.  Registration will take place in the Fine Arts Building.  The tournament will offer NPDA Debate, IT, NFA-LD and IPDA in addition to all 11 AFA-NIET individual events.  Dinner will be provided on Friday evening.  On Friday, 4 rounds of debate will be offered on Friday as well.  Semis (or finals) will be held on Sunday. No prepared event may have been used in competition prior to this academic year.

Entries and Fees:  Entries are due Monday, January 21st at 5:00 pm.  All changes are due on Wednesday, January 23 at 12:00 pm.  Any changes made after noon will be assessed a  $15 Drop fee (plus the original entry fees).  All entries will be submitted via the joyoftournaments.com.

Lodging: We will be using the La Quinta Inn located very conveniently to the campus at 5520 East Sam Houston Pkwy N, Houston, TX 77015 as our tournament hotel.  They have guaranteed us a very reasonable rate of $89.00 per night plus tax.  Please call 281-452-4402 to make reservations or for further information.  Make sure to mention the “TCCFA.”  They will hold the block until January 15, 2019.  In past years, this hotel has been accommodating to our needs for rooms booked past the deadline.  Please bring your tax exemption form if you do not wish to pay state tax.

San Jacinto will also be hosting the annual TCCFA dinner on Saturday.  This year the state dinner will be at Shogun.  The menu options will be chicken or vegetarian (vegan available) hibachi.  The menu includes soup, salad, vegetables and fried rice.  We will be in a private area with 4 large hibachi grills.  The price is $16 dollars plus $2.88 gratuity for each person.  Price does not include beverage.  Schools will be able to pay separtely.  Please let me know of your menu choices by Wednesday,  January 23 noon.

San Jacinto College North is looking forward to seeing everyone in January!

Respectfully,
