24th Annual Spring Classic Tournament

Dear UIL Coordinator/Sponsors:
Looking for a tournament? Look no further than Princeton High School for the 24th Annual UIL Spring Classic Tournament. The tournament will be held on Fri & Sat, January 10 & 11, 2020.
Academic Events: We will be offering all academic UIL events with the exception of Ready Writing. We will be utilizing the UIL Invitation A Material.
Journalism: Our journalism workshop makes our tournament really special. Lori Oglesbee and Alyssa Boehringer will workshop each contest before administering the events. The cost is $50 per student, which covers all training sessions for Feature, Headline, News, and Editorial writing, as well as the contest for all 5 of the journalism events. We have reworked the schedule to ensure that students are able to both attend the workshops and take the tests.
Speech Events: CX, LD Debate with UIL and NSDA Divisions, PF, and Congress Debate Events. Congress sessions may be reduced or cancelled if there is a lack of participants. Prose and Poetry (reader's choice), Informative and Persuasive Extemp, HI, DI, POI, DUO, OO, and NSDA Informative Speaking Events. We will consolidate or cancel any events if there is a lack of entries.
Entry Deadline is NOON on Wed, January 8, 2020.
Judging Requirements: You will be required to furnish a judge for each section. You must supply a judge for each speech section in which entries are submitted. It cannot be the same person. If you have CX and LD debate entries, you must supply a judge for every two teams per event. A judging fee of $150.00 will be assessed for each missing judge.
Entry fees: $10.00 per IE entry, $10.00 per Student Congress entry, $20.00 per LD Debate & Duo entry, $35.00 per CX or PF Debate entry.

Awards: Medals for 1st – 6th. Math & Science events will be divided into large and small school divisions. Team trophies will be awarded for the Overall Academic Champ, Overall Speech Team, Sweepstakes and Runner-up.
Drops: Unless called in prior to noon all debate drops on the day of the meet will result in a drop fee of $50.00 plus the loss of your entry fee. All others will result in loss of entry fees..
