The Rex Fleming Memorial Tournament
September 27th and 28th, 2019
Memorial High School in Houston invites you to compete in the Rex Fleming Memorial Tournament on September 27th and 28th, 2019. We are proud that our tournament is a Texas Forensic Association Qualifier for member schools. As always, our quality of competition, judging and hospitality is the best the Houston region can offer.
In addition to Championship divisions of Policy, Lincoln-Douglas, Public Forum, and Worlds School Debate, we will also offer Duo Interp, Domestic and Foreign Extemporaneous Speaking, Novice Extemporaneous Speaking, Original Oration, Dramatic and Humorous Interpretation, Prose, Poetry, Impromptu, Informative Speaking, and POI. We will also be hosting Student Congress. In keeping with SBISD and TFA guidelines, we can only accept entries from official school sponsors: All competitors must be accompanied by their coach or a full time employee of the school district they represent.
Entries may begin immediately upon posting of this invitation. Our facilities are extremely limited. The deadline for entries is Sept. 14th, but please register early, as we expect to be full long before this date. You will be charged for entries as they are made, so please feel free to add them incrementally up to the time the event closes. In debate, all schools will be initially restricted to no more than 5 Policy teams, 5 Public Forum Teams, and 5 Lincoln-Douglas Debaters. We will initially limit IE entries to 8 per school, with more moving off the wait list as the tournament draws nearer. Special consideration will be given to teams from outside the Houston area. After September 21st, all fees are set: At that time the website closes, fees are set, and you must contact Memorial Debate in order to make any changes to your entry.
