(A 5th - 8th grade Theatre Festival/Competition Tournament)

Dear Theatre Directors and Speech/Interp Coaches,

We would like to invite you and your Theatre/Speech team to attend the Grand Prairie High School Theatre and Speech Festival for grades 5 - 8. Hosted by the GPHS THEATRE Booster Club, we offer individual and team trophies and awards. Awards will be given for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places in all events.  Sweepstakes trophies will be awarded to the top 3 schools. 5th Graders are allowed to enter any event, however only 5th Graders are allowed to enter into the 5th Grade Monologues.

We welcome you and your students to our tournament, and wish you the best of success this competitive season.  We hope to see you all there!

Information to Remember:

Monday, November 11, 2019 (5:00pm) – Entries due on Joy of Tournaments. 

You must bring payment to registration.


Individual Events -- $8.00 each

Group Events/Duet/Duo -- $14.00 each

Please make checks payable to the GPHS CAPERS Theatre Booster Club

GPISD schools– please advise your finance secretary that we are on the vendor list.


There is no fast food available within walking distance of GPHS.  A concession stand will be provided with very reasonable prices. Students are encouraged to remain on campus. We ask that you please not order food delivery for your students. We are providing food/drinks based on the number of students attending and we want to keep the prices low. 



Registration and the Tab room are located Student Union Media Center next to the cafeteria.

Allow time for costume changes and preparations.

Please also be sure your students turn off their cell phones during each round.

Please consider the schedule when choosing events. Students are responsible for keeping track of their events if they are cross-entered. Please make sure if students are cross-entered that they have signed in to each room, however regardless of signing in, judges will only wait for 15 minutes after the round has ended in order to keep the tournament running on time. Cross enter at your own risk.
