The San Angelo Central High School Speech and Debate team cordially invites you to the 2019 Bobcat Bonanza Tournament on November 1st and 2nd. We hope you can come! Our TWO DAY SWING tournament is the perfect tournament for your TFA season and/or to get started practicing for your UIL season!
Registration will begin at 1:45 pm on Friday, November 1st. Students may not step on campus until 1:45. Rounds will start at 2. We will be offering all the standard TFA events, as well as impromptu, prose and poetry (reader's choice).
The deadline for registration is Monday, October 28th and the deadline for drops is Tuesday, October 29th at 4 pm. We will panel all TFA qualifying events starting at the semifinal round. Our goal is to use quality judges so you have a quality chance to do your best. If you are bringing a judge with you, please provide us with that information when you register your squad online.
We will be providing awards for finals, the Top 3 placing schools, a Squad Efficiency Award, Top Speaker Award (Extemp, Informative, Oratory & Impromptu), and Top Interper Award (Prose, Poetry, Dramatic, Humorous, POI, Duo & Duet).
***The Top Interper Award has been re-named the Zach Sutterfield Award. Zach was a 2016 CHS graduate and Speech & Debate team legend. He was in the Iconic Village Apartment Fire on July 20, 2018. He suffered 3rd degree burns on 70% of his body, a head trauma and the loss of his fingers. Today he is doing amazing things, but still has a long road to recovery. He is a legend of our team as a performer and a person! We want to share his story with you by naming this award after him. Thank you to the Speech & Debate Community for supporting Zach and his family this past year.
Our goal is to provide you with a competitive and well run tournament. We are working diligently to make this tournament a complete success. Please feel free to contact me if you have any further questions or for more information at firstname.lastname@example.org or 325-656-7283.
WE CAN'T WAIT TO SEE YOU!!!!
