Canyon UIL Academic Invitational Meet
New Braunfels, TX
January 26, 2019
Dear Teachers and Students,
Canyon High School is pleased to invite you to our 2nd annual UIL Academic competition. Come spend a beautiful January day in New Braunfels and get some great practice for UIL District competition. We will offer all UIL sanctioned events except CX and computer science hands on and robotics. We will use UIL generated materials and third party vendors for ALL tested events.
In keeping within UIL guidelines, students may compete in one testing event per time slot. All events will be governed by the UIL rules as contained in the 2018-2019 UIL Constitution and Contest Rules (CC&R). (An online version of the CC&R is available by clicking UIL Constitution Online). In addition, I'm always available to answer any of your questions.
Please remember, we need your support to keep all events running smoothly and on time. Schools registering need to bring at least one adult to serve as a Contest Director, Grader or Proctor. Schools entering speech and/or debate events are required to bring one judge for every six speech entries (or portion thereof), one judge for every four LD entries (or portion thereof). Any missing speech or debate judges will incur a $75 fee per missing judge. ALL judging fees must be paid before students are allowed to compete.
If you are interested in serving as a contract judge, please email me your request along with a description of your judging experience.
We look forward to seeing you and your students at this exciting event. Again, do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.
