UIL Invitational Meet
February 21-22, 2020

The A&M Consolidated Speech and Academic Teams invite you to our annual UIL invitational meet on February 21-22, 2020 at A&M Consolidated High School.    

Events.  We will offer all UIL academic and speech events, except CX debate.  LD begins on Friday and the Hands On Portion of the Computer Science test will be held on Friday as well (together with an option for those students to take the written test if they have no other reason to come on Saturday).  All other events will be held on Saturday. 

Divisions.  For most academic events, the tournament will be divided into a small school division (1A, 2A, 3A, 4A) and a large school division (5A, 6A).  Number Sense, Calculator Applications, Science, and Mathematics will be divided into 9th-10th grade and 11th-12th competitions.  The speaking events will NOT be divided.  

Materials.  We will use third party materials.  TMSCA tests for math and science events, A+ Computer Science materials, and HEXCO materials for all other events.  

Judging.  Academic coaches are expected to grade.  Independent judges are hired for Ready Writing and the four Journalism contests.  There is a $25 judging fee for schools entered in these events.  Schools with speech entries must either provide a qualified and experienced judge for ALL rounds (including FINALS) or pay a $150 fee.  Qualified hired judges will also be used.  

Hospitality.  Food will be provided for coaches, judges and bus drivers, including dinner Friday night as well as breakfast, lunch, and a snack on Saturday.  Concessions for students will be sold in the cafeteria.  



Academic events:                                   $10.00 per entry

Individual speech events:                       $15.00 per entry
LD:                                                          $15.00 per entry

Journalism judging fee:                          $25.00 per school with journalism or Ready Writing entries
Speech judging fees:                              $150.00 per school with speech entries OR provide qualified                                                                                  judge for EVERY ROUND (including finals)


Once your school is entered, you are obligated for all fees.  Drops made after 4:00 pm

on Friday, February 14, 2020 will result in loss of entry fee. 

Speech no-shows and drops made on the day of the contest will result in double entry fees.
