Entries: For all scripted events (everything except extemp and impromptu), a student MUST have turned in a script on or before January 26, 2019 and have received approval for that script in order for registration to be valid. An approved script list was sent out to all coaches who turned in scripts. Please make sure that your students’ names appear under the proper event on the list of approved scripts; students whose names do not appear on the list will be dropped. Per our bylaws, a student may NOT enter Quals if he/she has not participated in at least one WBFL league IE tournament this school year.

Drop Deadline: Although registration closes on February 22, coaches may email drops to Sharon James on or before Tuesday, February 26. After Tuesday, fees are frozen.

Registration:  Upon arrival at the tournament, coaches should check in immediately in the tab room; judges should check in at the judge’s room. Failure of coaches and judges to check in on time both days may result in your team being dropped in its entirety at the discretion of the Tournament Director. PLEASE NOTE: Extemp check-in will start promptly as scheduled, so your team needs to be checked in before then. When you check in, please inform us of any drops as well as any judging changes. It is essential that coaches check in with the tab room during the day; coaches must also be available to judge the final round. For these reasons, coaches may NOT be one of the registered judges for their teams.

Judges: Each school MUST provide one judge per five entries (or fraction thereof) for whichever pattern in which the school has the greater number of entries. For example, a school with 11 entries in A events and 16 entries in B events would need four judges (one judge per five based on Pattern B). Judges must be at least one year out of high school, and two years out of high school to judge final rounds. You MUST have enough judges to cover your entries through the entire day. Of course, extra judges are always appreciated because they enable us to run on time. If you are splitting judging commitments, please ensure the split overlaps (i.e.: Morning 7:45 AM to 3:15 PM; Afternoon 2:45 PM to 10 PM). PLEASE inform your judges that it is imperative they be ON TIME. Late judges cause the tournament to run late. Failure to fulfill your judging commitment in its entirety may result in dropped entries at the sole discretion of the Tournament Director.

Schedule:  Because this is a two-day schedule, it is imperative that students, coaches and judges BE ON TIME for all rounds. Registration for both judges and teams will begin PROMPTLY according to schedule. Please emphasize to your judges that they MUST arrive on time so that judging instructions can start promptly and rounds can begin as scheduled. We cannot start if judges and teams do not arrive on time. Students who are late for Extemp Check-In may miss their round and thus be eliminated from the Qualifier, so please make sure that everyone is aware of start times. As the day progresses on Saturday, rounds will go out as soon as possible, so students are NOT to leave campus. Missing a round will mean that the student is disqualified; we will not re-run rounds if a student misses a round for ANY reason.
