2019 Spartan Aloha Classic @ Schurr
Dates: 4/13/2019

Dear Fellow Speech and Debate Coach:

The Schurr High School Spartan Speech and Debate Team would like to invite you to come and share in all the fun and festivities that will occur at the 19th
annual Doug Campbell Aloha Classion Saturday April 13, 2019.
For the speech and congress events schedule, all categories will occur and finish on Saturday, April 13th . It is our vision that the members of your squad will come and sharpen themselves for the State Championships in a laid back, "Aloha-like" setting. We hope this will serve as a swift kick in the rear for your state qualifiers... or a last good tournament to end a great season.

Our tournament will offer all CHSSA Speech events and Student Congress. The speech schedule will feature two preliminary rounds with a semi-final round and a final round for all events. We will be awarding all speech finalists in all events. In Student Congress, there will be three preliminary rounds and a final. We will also be featuring a Novice Divison of Student Congress. All Student Congress finalists will be awarded.

Schools are expected to bring judges. The ratio will be 1 for 4 - that is 1 judge for every 4 entries in the bigger speech pattern. Congress will be 1 for 6 entries. You will be allowed to buy out your judges at $10.00 per speech/congress entry. (It would be better that we are covered with judges than for you to buy out. However, the option is yours.Failure of your judges to show the day of the tournament may result in the pulling of those competitors from semis and finals of schools who have not covered their judging requirements. In addition, competitors may be pulled from their event if a school's judges mysteriously disappear during the tournament.

Registration will be in front of the Administration building between 7:00am to 7:30am on Saturday for Speech and Congress.(other registration arrangements can be made, so please plan accordingly). It is also imperative that your judges arrive by 7:30am so that judging instructions can be given. Food food for coaches and judges will be provided.

We hope we can make our 19th year just as successful and fun as the first seventeen tournaments. We have already begun to establish the Aloha Classic as the precursor to the State Championships. With your help and attendance, I know we can make this another spectacular year!
