Dear Colleagues,


Your ASDCA Representatives are proud to invite you to our annual Division I Winter Trophy Tournament on November 30 - December 1.  At this tournament we will be offering Congress, Novice/Varsity Divisions of LD, Policy, Public Forum and Big Question and the full compliment of individual events.


Big thanks to Dr. Adam Symonds and the ASU Speech and Debate Team for hosting us again this year!

Important: This year we will be sharing the location with Division II.  Each division will be running their own tournament with separate tab rooms.

What does this mean for your team? 

  • We will have a common judge lounge.  Food will be provided for your judges (not a communityjudge lounge this year), but your team may be asked to help with the logistics of stocking the lounge, and costs will be covered.
  • Judges may be asked to judge in either division.  Please let your judges know ahead of time.  
  • The registration web sites look ALMOST the same. Please be sure you are signing up for the CORRECT tournament. This is DIVISION I.
  • Please be sure to sign up for the correct division.  If in doubt, email me

 Please note that all entries will be due prior to 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 28th, 2018.  Any drops after November 28 will be assessed the entry fee amount for said event(s).  Additions to the entry and modifications will also be accepted until that date.  Schools will be allowed to enter only six students or teams in any event.  Please post your drops and/or changes online as soon as you are aware of them.  Entries and drops will only be accepted through www.joyoftournaments.com/az.  Do not fax or call in entries/drops unless it is the day of the tournament.  For drops and changes on the day of the tournament call Tim Cornwell at 480-216-3787 ASAP. 

Students may enter student congress, one debate event, and two individual events.  Fees will be charged as follows: $50 team base fee, $10 for each team event, and $5 for each individual event.

Please note - your ASDCA membership dues must be current in order to attend.  If not, the $120 annual dues will be added to your invoice.  You can check the "Invoice" tab to see if your dues are current.
