Princeton and North Lamar High Schools
The Panthers’ Dual
September 9, 2017
North Lamar High School and Princeton High School cordially invite you to join us for the fourth annual Panthers’ Dual TFA Tournament, which will be held on Sept 9, 2017, at Princeton High School in Princeton, Texas. The deadline for registration is Monday, September 4, 2017, at 3:30 PM. Drops after this time will incur a loss of entry fee. Drops after Friday, September 8, at noon, will incur a loss of entry fee plus $25 drop fee.
Events: We will be offering all TFA events plus Impromptu, Prose and Poetry and a Novice division in LD and policy debate. We will also be offering POI(Program of Oral Interpretation) and INF(Informative Speaking). See the NSDA webpage for more information on these events: http://www.speechanddebate.org/aspx/news.aspx?id=191
Awards: We will be presenting 1st – 6th trophies for all events along with Sweepstake and Runner-up Sweepstake trophies.
LD and PF - 1 judge for every 4 debate entries per event (or portion thereof)
Policy Debate – 1 judge for every 2 teams (or portion thereof)
IEs – 1 judge for every 5 individual event entries (or portion thereof).
Notes on judge requirements:
Please note that because we are allowing cross-entries for students, we have little flexibility in our judging requirements. Our judging fees are rather high because we want your judges, not your money. Please help us run an efficient tournament by providing judges who are willing to judge.
Judges must be available for the entire day. Judges who miss an assignment will incur $75 fee for each assignment missed because we will be forced to pay a hired judge to fulfill your judging obligation. Fees will be invoiced to your school.
Ballots should be picked up no later than 15 minutes prior to the beginning of the round.
Partial entries require full judges. For example: an entry that includes 3 LDers and 3 policy debaters would require 3 judges (1 for LD and 2 for CX).
Debate judges may not judge in any other pool.
Policy and PF teams: $50.00 per team
LD: $35.00 per LD entry
All other events: $20.00 per entry
Debate Judge: $200
IE judge: $150
