Dear UIL Coordinator/Sponsor:
Needville High School invites you to our eighth annual UIL Academic Invitational. It will be held on Saturday, February 18, 2012. We will be offering all academic events except CX Debate. We will be following all UIL rules and will be using the UIL Set B materials.
REGISTRATION: Registration will be online at
www.joyoftournaments.com. Web site registration will close on Tuesday, February 14. If you have any questions, please contact Delta McFarland at

ENTRY FEES: All events will be $8.00 per entry except for LD Debate, Public Forum Debate and Computer Science programming which is $16. Payment is due by the date of the invitational. Payment may be made at the door on February 18 or mailed to my attention to the address above. Please make the check payable to NISD Activity Fund.
ENTRIES: Entries will be accepted on a first come, first serve basis until we reach space limits. The exceptions are for Computer Applications which will be limited to 30 and for Computer Science programming with only 2 teams per school.
DROPS: Last day to avoid a drop fee is February 14. Drops after February 14 will result in the loss of the entry fees. In LD Debate, there will be a drop fee of $32 after February 14. LD Debate drops on February 18 will be subject to a chaos fee of $48 per entry. No individual speech entries will be charged extra drop fees. Please email us as soon as you know there will be a drop.
AWARDS: Schools will be divided up into small (1A-3A) and large (4A-5A) schools for nonspeaking events. There will be no divisions for speech events. Medals will be awarded to the top three and ribbons for fourth through sixth in each event for each division. Plaques will also be given to the first place team in each team event. For non-speaking events, winners will be announced and medals/ribbons will be awarded immediately after results have been verified. Sweepstakes awards will be given to the first place schools in both divisions. All Speech awards will be given out at the end of the tournament. A trophy will be awarded to the top speech team.
