We are going to allow students to cross-enter in events, but if they are cross entered, they or a competitor from your school will need to sign them in.

Your studetns may cross enter in CX and one section of extemp. If they advance to out rounds, we are going to ask them to drop extemp and we will refund you the entry fee.

Colleagues:

The Lampasas HS Speech and Debate team is hosting a TFA invational tournament and we would like for you to attend. The tournament is scheduled for Saturday, October 28th, at the high school campus. The team is excited about the contest and looks forward to seeing all of you.

Lampasas Speech and Debate will offer the following debate and speaking events: Prose Interpretation, Poetry Interpretation, LD Debate, CX Debate, PF Debate, Humorous, Dramatic, Duo, Duet Acting, Oratory, Congress, Foreign Extemp and US Extemp. TFA rules and time limits will be followed in all events.

LD will use the October NSDA topic. CX will debate the education topic. Public forum will debate the October resolution.

Awards will be given to the top six finishers in each of the individual events; in debate, the quarterfinalists will be given awards. Sweepstakes awards will be given to the two highest-ranking speech clubs.

Due to the size of our school we suuggest you get your enteries in early. We will have a wait list that will be updated often. If you have a student that cannot come please drop them from the tournament so we can let another off the waitlist. Waitlist enteries will be first come first serve.

The deadline for all entries is Tuesday, October 24th, at 5:00PM. Please note that LD Debate, PFD and CX Debate will break to Quarters unless there is a cleaner break to semis. We will break brackets. Also, registration the day of the tournament ends at 7:30 am and competition begins at 7:30 am. Debate teams not registered by 7:30 am will not be able to compete in Round 1 and will be given a bye-loss.To ensure efficiency of the tournament, it is very important that we start on time. Thank you for understanding.

See you on October 28th!
