Klein Forest Invitational Tournament
Dear UIL Academic Coordinator:
Klein Forest High School will host its annual UIL Academic Tournament on Saturday, January 14, 2017. Klein Forest High School is located just 2 miles north of Beltway 8 off Bammel North Houston Road. Registration will start at 7:00 am and first contest will start at 8:00 am.
We will be offering contests in: Accounting, Calculator Applications, Computer Applications, Comupter Scieince, Current Evnets, Editorial Writing, Feature Writing, Headline Writing,Literary Criticism, Mathematics, News Writing, Number Sense, Poetry, Prose, Ready Writing, Science, Social Studies, and Spelling.We will be using UIL Set A Materials. All events will be governed by the UIL rules as contained in the 2016-2017 UIL Constitution and Contest Rules (CC&R).
It has been exciting to hear from many of you. We look forward to seeing you on January 14th.
Entry fees: $10.00 per Individual Entry (Since this is a practice meet, there is no limit to how many students you can enter per event).
Additional Fees: $50 for each Ready Writing or Journalism event where a judge is not provided.
Entry for Computer Science:
· $30.00 per team (fee covers written and hands-on).
· Teams can consists of up to 3 members
· Teams are responsible for bringing their own computers and chargers in case of laptops.
· Solutions will be submitted using USBs (will be provided), but you can bring your own if you can.
Awards: Awards will be announced in the Commons at the conclusion of grading and verification. Medals will be awarded to the top 3 individuals in each event. Ribbons will be awarded for places 4-6.
A concession stand will be available for your students with breakfast, lunch items and snacks. Prices for the snack bar will range from $0.50 to $6.00. A hospitality room will be provided for all coaches including a complimentary lunch.
