Dear Colleagues:

Idalou High School is proud to announce its Wildcat UIL Academic Meet for 1A, 2A and 3A schools on Saturday, February 17, 2018.  We are excited about our tournament and hope you will make plans to attend.  We will use UIL Set B testing materials.

All UIL literary and academic events except CX will be offered and medals will be awarded to the top three contestants in each contest.  Ribbons will be given for 4th through 6th place in each event.  Plaques will be given for 1st place in team events.  Math/science events will be divided according to student grade level.  Ribbons will be awarded per grade level.  All awards will be distributed through the tab room.  Each contest will be conducted according to the UIL Constitution.

Entries must be received by Monday, February 12 at 3:30 p.m.  The deadline for drops or changes is Wednesday, February 14 at 3:30 p.m.  A drop fee of $15 per dropped speaking entry after the deadline will be applied.  The following entry fees will be applied.

All coaches will be asked to assist with grading events except writing events.  We will provide three judges for each writing event.  Each judge will read each paper and critiques will be written for all papers. There will be a $50 flat judges fee for each school entering contestants in speech events.  

There will be a limited number of seats available for computer applications.  We have 24 spots, so please sign up early.  Computer application contestants must bring their own equipment.  Each school entered in computer applications must provide a coach to grade after the contest.  Also, we will limit the number of LD debaters to 16.  Make sure your debater will be here.

There will be a concession stand in the high school gym throughout the day which will be run by our junior class.  Your students will be allowed to run a tab, but please take care of those charges before the end of the day.  Please make sure your students know what the limit is.

A hospitality room will be provided for all coaches, judges, graders, and bus drivers.
