Dear Colleagues:

Memorial High School in Houston invites you to compete in the Rex Fleming Memorial Tournament on September 24th and 25th, 2010.  We are proud that our tournament is a Semis Bid in Policy and a Finals Bid in Lincoln-Douglas Debate, as well as a Texas Forensic Association Qualifier for member schools.  This tournament will offer top-quality competition and judging, thanks largely to many Houston area debate coaches who have committed to make this tournament successful. In addition to Championship divisions of Policy and Lincoln-Douglas Debate we will also offer Duo Interp, Duet Acting, Domestic and Foreign Extemporaneous Speaking, Original Oration, Dramatic and Humorous Interpretation, Prose, Poetry, Impromptu, and Public Forum Debate. In keeping with TOC and TFA guidelines, we can only accept entries from official school sponsors:  All competitors must be accompanied by their coach or qualified adult.

Entries may begin immediately upon posting of this invitation.  Our facilities are limited this year, as we are not using other campuses.  The deadline for entries is September 17th, but please register early, as we expect to be full long before this date.  You will be charged for entries as they are made, so please feel free to add them incrementally up to the time the event closes.  In varsity debate, all schools will be initially restricted to no more than 3 Policy teams, 3 Lincoln-Douglas Debaters, and 3 PF teams.  There will be an initial maximum of 5 entries per IE and Duo/Duet. Please add competitors to the wait lists and they will be admitted as room becomes available. Special consideration will be given to teams from outside the state of Texas and the Houston area.  On September 17th at 4pm CST the website closes, fees are set, and you must contact Memorial Debate in order to make any changes to your entry.

We hope to see you in September.
