Please accept our invitation to attend the Annual Cave Classic Speech and Debate tournament at La Cueva High School, Albuquerque, NM, on January 20th and 21st, 2017.

We will offer the following NSDA events: Public Forum Debate, Lincoln Douglas Debate, Policy Debate, Humorous Interpretation, Dramatic Interpretation, Duo Interpretation, Program of Oral Interpretation, International Extemporaneous Speaking, United States Extemporaneous Speaking, Informative Speaking and Original Oratory. Lincoln Douglas and Policy Debate will be bracketed into Novice and Varsity. We will offer three rounds of individual events and four rounds of debate. Because of the amount of time scheduled for IE rounds, competitors will be limited to two IE entries. We will determine breaks to Quarterfinals, Semifinals, and Finals as necessary based on entries and performances.
All students and entries must be registered online at the Joy of Tournaments Cave Classic webpage. Registration will be open until 6:00 pm on Jan. 19th. All events will be charged an $8.00 entry fee, and partner events (PF,CX, Duo) will be charged $16.00. Entry fees can be paid either by cash or check made out to La Cueva High School, attn. Speech and Debate. Any changes after registration has closed will be charged a $25.00 drop fee. If any such change needs to happen, please contact Michelle Zhou at email@example.com or (505-274-4184). A $25.00 nuisance fee will also be charged for drops made during the tournament, adding competitors to events, or no-shows.
We will be releasing topic areas for Extemporaneous Speaking the week before the Tournament. Note: As per the electronic policy, computers and other electronics will be allowed in Debates and in the Extemp Prep area. However, there will be no downloading of files or browsing the internet. Any file downloads will have to be done prior to coming on campus. Reminder: all interpretation pieces should have an ORIGINAL introduction.
