February 10-11 2012
Hello Everyone:
Rigby High School would like to cordially invite you to attend the Trojan Forensics Invitational being held the 10-11 of February. The tournament will be held at Rigby Senior High School, 290 N. 3800 E. Rigby Idaho.
We will be offering Open divisions of all three debate events: Policy, LD and Public Forum. We are also offering the following speech events: Impromptu, Expository, Original Oratory, Oratorical Analysis, Panel Discussion, After Dinner Speaking, Sales, Duo Interp, Solo Interp (both Humorous and Series in the same division) and Duo Improv. Students will be able to double enter in two (2) speech events. The guidelines set out by the Idaho H.S. Activities Association, including the Idaho Debate Code, will be utilized to establish a standard of competition and evaluation. Duo Improv will follow the same rules established at the Tiger-Grizz tournament earlier this year.
Joy of Tournaments will be used for registration and tabulation. All tournament changes or drops will need to be completed prior to Noon on February 8th. After this point any drops will be assessed a $25 drop fee. Drops on the day of the tournament will be assessed a $50 fee.
Please be mindful that on Friday we will be sharing the building with a Choir fundraising dinner and Wrestling tournament. Debate students will gather in the Auditorium rather than the commons. We understand this creates some logistical obstacles for us but please bear with us as we work to accomodate everyone. Please remind your students to be additionally careful with their food and beverages in the auditorium. Everyone needs to make a concerted effort to clean up their garbage and treat the auditorium with respect. More and more schools are choosing not to allow debate touranments due to student behavior. It is our goal to continue to be able to host an annual tournament but that can only happen with your dilligence.
We look forward to seeing you. Any questions or concerns can be directed to me at my e-mail, rcortes@sd251.org, or by phone, 208-745-7704. Please do not hesitate to contact me.
