Dear Coaches:

 

The Texas A&M University, Kingsville Department of Art, Communications & Thetre (ACT) is pleased to invite you to their TFA Qualifying Tournament to be held Saturday, February 8, 2020. We are looking forward to presenting students with a challenging and highly rewarding tournament experience. Along with great competition your students will enjoy lunch, snacks, and an award ceremony with handmade awards by the TAMUK ACT Department.

 

Please note that we are having a ONE DAY TOURNAMENT. Please use this website for all tournament entries. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Dr. Nick J. Sciullo.

 

Cross entries are allowed, but do understand that cross entries are at your own risk.

Section A:  Humorous Interp, Poetry, Novice Poetry and Duo Interp

Section B:  Foreign, Domestic, and Novice Extemp, Original Oratory, POI, Duet

Section C:  Dramatic Interp, Prose, Novice Prose, Informative

 

Section D: CX, LD, PF, CD

 

Events:

Speech: Humorous Interp, Poetry, Novice Poetry, Duo Interp, Foreign, Domestic, and Novice Extemp, Original Oratory, POI, Dramatic Interp, Prose, Novice Prose, Informative, Duet

 

Debate: CX, LD, PF, Congress
 

Students may only enter 1 extemp division. Students may not cross enter if entered in any non-Congress debate activity.  Students may only enter one debate activity.

 

All Entries are due Saturday, February 5 when arriving at the tournament.

 

There is a $50.00 entry fee per school. That's it! Drops on the day of the tournament will be $50.00 per drop for all events (please substitute students to avoid this fee).

 

Please make all substitutions and changes via the website. Any changes that need to be made after 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 6 may be emailed to nick.sciullo[@]tamuk.edu Payment of fees are due at registration. Checks should be made out to TAMUK Department of Art, Communications & Theatre.

 

Judging fees will be determined on Thursday January 30th @ 5 p.m. The fee for each missing judge is $100.00. A limited number of TAMUK students can be hired as judges for $75.00 for the day. Please email nick.sciullo[@]tamuk.edu by January 30th @ 5 p.m. if you need to hire a judge. PleaseThe judging requirement will be figured as follows:

1 judge for every 2 CX and PF teams or portion there of / $100.00 fee
1 judge for every 4 LD debaters or portion there of / $100.00 fee
1 judge for every 5 IE entries or portion there of / $100.00 fee
