Dates: 2/16/2019

New Caney High School

UIL Academic Invitational

Judging Information

Computer Applications and Spelling:  One grader for each school in this event must participate with grading.

Speech Events: Please bring one judge for poetry and one for prose if you have entries in these categories.  With Extemp events and Lincoln Douglas please bring a judge for each two teams/participants.  We will secure judges for these events, but when each team provides judges, we will have a larger pool to pull from.  The fee for not providing a judge is $100.00 per event.

Journalism Judges: If you enter any journalism events, your school must provide a qualified judge or pay a $100 fee so judges can be hired. It is the goal of the tournament to provide good judges' comments and help your contestants have a quality learning experience at our contest.

Ready Writing Judges: If you enter Ready Writing, your school must provide a qualified judge or pay a $100 fee so judges can be hired. Our goal for the tournament is to provide good judges' comments and help your contestants have a quality learning experience at our contest.

All other events: Coaches are expected to volunteer to judge/grade/proctor for each event. An announcement will be made when and where judging/scoring will occur. Any coaches who would like to proctor and/or judge may contact Jane Atwell at jatwell@newcaneyisd.org before the tournament or volunteer the day of the contest.
