2019 Mt. Pleasant High School TFA Tournament
Mt. Pleasant High School invites you to participate join us for the 2019 Mt. Pleasant High School TFA Tournament on November 16, 2019, at Mt. Pleasant High School. All TFA events will be offered, as well as prose and poetry interpretation.
Entry Deadline: Monday, November 11th, 2019, at 3:00 PM
Drops after Wednesday, November 13th, 2019, at noon, will result in loss of entry fee.
Drops after Friday, November 15th, 2019, at noon, will be assessed an additional $25 drop fee
CX Debate: One judge per two teams (or portion thereof)
LD Debate and Public Forum Debate: One judge per 4 entries (or portion thereof)
Congressional Debate: One judge per school
Extemporaneous Speaking: One judge per 6 entries (or portion thereof)
Individual Events: One judge per 6 entries (or portion thereof)
Schools missing judges will be assessed a fee of $150 per judge. Please note: we would prefer to have the judges rather than the fee.
Individual Events (including Duo/Duet) - $15
CX Debate - $40
LD Debate, PF Debate & Congress - $20
Hospitality Fee - $25
Notes on Cross Entries:
Section A – Domestic Extemp, Foreign Extemp, Original Oratory, POI
Section B – Duo Interp, Humorous Interp, Poetry, Impromptu
Section C – Duet Acting, Dramatic Interp, Prose, Informative
Section D – Varsity CX Debate, Varsity LD Debate, Varsity PF Debate, Varsity Congressional Debate, Novice CX Debate, Novice LD Debate, Novice PF Debate
Students may enter only one extemporaneous speaking event.
Section D competitors may cross-enter only in extemp.
Students who cross-enter do so at their own risk. The tournament will not hold rounds for cross-entries if an event falls behind and entry fees will not be refunded. Late competitors could be forfeited from the round.
Hospitality will be provided for coaches and judges and a concession stand will be available for students.
Finals of all qualifying events will be paneled.
Congress will use the Fall TFA Docket, #1-10 for prelims and #11-15 for finals.
