PANTHER FALL INVITATIONAL UIL ACADEMIC MEET

AT MABANK HIGH SCHOOL

SATURDAY, Oct 20th, 2018

Greetings UIL Sponsors,

Registration will close October 17th @ 3:30. All debate will be using UIL resolutions with the exception of Congress. See "Congress Legislation" for more details.

All UIL events will be offered, and we will be using Independant Materials. Poetry/Prose is Reader's Choice. We will NOT be checking for documentation.

Student Congress will consist of 2 independent sessions. Medals will be awarded for the morning and the afternoon session. You must register for both sessions.  Congress Legislation is posted on the Congress Tab. Please refer to that page for additional details.

Things to know:

  • Mabank High School is a member school of the Northeast Texas Debate Association, thus this tournament is a qualifying tournament for the NTDA Championship Tournament.

  • Medals will be awarded to the top three winners in each event.  1st place trophy will be presented to the schools earning the most points according to UIL rules. 2nd place schools will be recognized. Results packets may be picked up at the end of the day.

  • PLEASE NOTE:  YOUR STUDENTS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO COMPETE IN DEBATE UNLESS YOU PROVIDE THE NECESSARY NUMBER OF JUDGES REQUESTED.  We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

  • Journalism will be judged by independent, unaffiliated judges.

  • In addition, we ask the sponsors to assist as judges for computer applications, spelling, accounting, literary criticism, number sense, calculator, mathematics, science, current events, social studies, journalism, ready writing, and computer science.

  • Computer Science: This event involves a team of at least three students. Multiple choice and hands on  test will be given.

  • Computer Applications: Students are responsible for bringing computers, printers, disks, software, extension cords and all other needed items.  Each school must supply a grader.  Entries will be limited to the first 25 received because of the lack of space.  Please note that the computer applications contest fills up very fast.

We look forward to seeing you on October 20th!
