The Harlingen High School Speech/Drama/Debate team is pleased to invite you to the 8th Annual TFA State Qualifying Tournament to be held September 8th, 2018. We are once again looking forward to presenting your students with a challenging and highly rewarding tournament experience.
Please note that we are having a ONE DAY TOURNAMENT. Please use this website for all tournament entries. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us.
Cross entries are allowed, but do understand that cross entries are at your own risk.
Section A: Humorous Interp, Poetry, Novice Poetry, Program Oral Interp and Duo Interp
Section B: Foreign, Domestic, and Novice Extemp, Original Oration, and Impromptu
Section C: Dramatic Interp, Prose, Novice Prose, Duet and Informative
Section D: VCX, NLD, VLD, CD
Students may only enter 1 extemp division. Students may not cross enter in Section A, if in debate. All other cross entries are at the discretion of student and coach with the knowledge that rounds will not be held due to Cross-entry. Students may enter only one debate event and Student Congress in section D.
All Entries are due by Friday September 7, 2018.
The website will remain open until Friday, September 7th, 2018 at 4:00 p.m. Please make all substitutions and changes via the website. Any changes that need to be made after 4:00 p.m. on Friday may be emailed to email@example.com
Payment of fees are due at registration. Checks should be made out to UIL SPEECH and Debate.
Entry Fees will be calculated on Wednesday, September 5th, 2018 @ 4:00pm. Drops after this time will result in the loss of entry fees. Drops on the day of the tournament will be $50.00 for all events. (please substitute students to avoid this fee)
Judging fees will be determined on Wednesday, September 5th, 2018. The fee for each missing IE judge is $50.00. Each missing debate judge will be charged $75.00. The judging requirement will be figured as follows:
CX: One Judge per 3 teams
LD, NLD: One judge per 6 entries
IE, DUET, DUO, Student Congress: One judge per 10 entries
