Dear Friends,

Our Eastlake High School Speech and Debate team invites you and your students to attend our Eastlake Winter Classic Tournament to be held at Eastlake High School on Friday, January 17 and Saturday, January 18, 2020.

Within our commitment to support a well-rounded forensics education, we will offer students the opportunity to compete in a variety of events, including Student Congressional Debate, Lincoln-Douglas Debate, Public Forum Debate, Policy Debate, Original Oratory, Informative Speaking, Foreign and Domestic Extemporaneous Speaking, Duo Interpretation, Duet Acting, Dramatic Interpretation, Humorous Interpretation, Prose, Poetry, and Program Oral Interpretation. The Eastlake Winter Classic is TFA IQT in all relevant debate and individual event categories.

Information on Parking: Parking normally isn't an issue, however we ask that for your convenience, you park at the front of the school by the large "EHS" letters and the flagpoles (Emerald Pass Ave. entrance). That front entrance will be the one you will come in through.

Information on Food: Student Congress will be given a one hour lunch break on Friday. Coaches will be allowed to leave and go get food (just please let one of the other coaches or myself know so we can keep an eye on your students). We have quite a few restaurants nearby (Boss Chicken, Speedy's Pizza, Wendy's, and Sonic are all within walking distance). About 7 minutes away is McDonalds, Taco Bell, Whataburger, Panda Express, and Peter Piper Pizza. We will not be offering concessions for the tournament, however there are vending machines on campus and places nearby. All coaches and judges will be welcome in our hospitality room for snacks and meals (Friday breakfast and dinner/Saturday breakfast, lunch, dinner).

Information on Registration: Entries are due Monday, January 13 by 4:00 P.M., but we'll gladly accept changes until Wednesday, January 15th. by 4:00 P.M. After that time, all changes and drops will accrue a charge of the outlined drop fee. We will use the "Joy of Tournaments" program for all sectioning and tabulation. Please meet the deadlines given for entries and drops.  All coaches will be expected to judge as needed.

We will make every effort to panel semi-final and final rounds of TFA qualifying events if we have enough judges. Please note that the the debate schedule (flighted or non-flighted rounds) will depend upon entry numbers. We have placed overall entry limits on all events as listed on the information page.

We hope to see you all here,

Rachel Neff | Eastlake Speech & Debate Program Director
