Dear UIL Coaches,
We would like to invite you to the Calallen High School Meet on Saturday, February 23, 2019. Calallen High School is located at 4001 Wildcat Drive, Corpus Christi, 78410. All tests will be original vendor tests. We will offer all UIL events including prose, poetry and both extemporaneous speaking categories. Students will need to have both categories for prose and poetry. UIL rules will be followed as closely as possible except in math and science. Math and science events will be graded by grade levels. Entry fees will be $8.00 per student per academic event. Deadline is Friday, February 22 at 3:00 PM. At that time, the website on joyoftournaments will be closed. Entry fees are nonrefundable after that date. Additional entries may be added after the deadline if room allows.
Computer Science will be Friday, Feb. 22, 2019.
Prose and Poetry events will need to use the NEW UIL Categories. While documentation will not be checked, this is a perfect way to "tryout" those new performance pieces. Prelims will be Category A, Semis will be Category B and Finals will be Performer's Choice. A master selection list will be kept for each event. Extemporaneous Speaking will also be offered in both events. Entry fees will be $10.00 per student per speaking event. Each school must bring at least one judge for prose/poetry and one judge for extemporaneous speaking; it can be the same person. If you would rather pay a judging fee, see judge sheet.
Each student is encourage to compete in various events. But students will cross enter at their own risk. Students may arrive late to a written test but will not be allowed more time. Students who cross enter in speaking events with an academic event MUST adhere to the speech schedule.

Make all entries on the
http://www.joyoftournaments.com/tx/calallen-uil. If you have never used this service, there are help guides to "talk you through it". You will make a master list of your students (your squad....that will stay in your school's account for four years), then enter them in the events/entries that they will be participating in and be sure to save each one of them. Call me if you have any questions. Once you are entered, it will save you a lot of time and effort each year.
See you on February 23, 2019
