I encourage all coaches to go over tournament room etiquette on the ride up to Aberdeen so we can forgo a general meeting. We will be featuring novice and varsity divisions in: Policy, LD, and Public Forum. Novice policy will be switch sides and be operating under the South Dakota novice topic limits and no counter plans or Kritiks are allowed in novice policy.
Public Forum debate will start at 9:30 at the high school and offers 5 rounds. A judges meeting for all new public forum judges is scheduled for 9:00 AM in B154- Student Services. Please note, due to a large number of volenteers in our community who want judge public forum, your public forum judges may not be utilized.
We would also like to point out that our tournament is proud to boast one of South Dakota’s finest coach and judge lounges. Ask anyone! Our speech and debate parents will set out a fine spread of complimentary food and drink for all of the over-worked and unappreciated judges and coaches in attendance!
Please note: the entry deadline is Thursday night at 8 pm. Please read the online entry information carefully. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me at
Kerry.Konda@k12.sd.us or cell, 605-290-6691. If you prefer the more conventional telephone, (605) 725-8151 is the debate office. Either way, I’ll return your call or note promptly. We look forward to hosting you at The Cup!
