The tournament, which includes competition in Debate and all individual events, will be held on our campus September 23 – 25th.
Definition of Novice: A novice is considered to be a competitor with no more than one year experience on the college level. A student would no longer be considered a novice in an event if s/he made it to any break rounds at a national tournament.
The tournament hotel is the Hyatt Place, located at 1601 Hurst Town Center Drive, Hurst, TX. They are holding rooms at a rate of $72.00 for the tournament. Please call them directly at 817-577 - 3003 and mention you are with “TCC Speech and Debate.” The hotel offers a complimentary hot breakfast, free wireless access, a fitness facility, a pool and microwaves and refrigerators in each room. You can room up to six people in the double-double rooms. There is an eight foot couch that pulls out. You will also need to bring your tax-exempt form if you do not wish to pay state tax. Reservations must be made by September 19, 2011.
The forensics program at Tarrant County College has been preparing for what is sure to be a competitive, enjoyable, and educational tournament. We look forward to seeing you on September 23th for some outstanding competition.
