THE PUSSYCAT SWING 2010

 

Individual Events:

All eleven of the events sponsored by the American Forensic Association will be offered at both halves of the UH/LSU Swing.  These events will be divided as follows:   

 

Section A 

Extemporaneous Speaking

Persuasive Speaking

Program of Oral Interpretation

Communication Analysis

Dramatic Interpretation

Poetry Interpretation 

 

Section B

  Impromptu Speaking

Informative Speaking

Prose Interpretation

Dramatic Duo

After-Dinner Speaking 

 

 

 

 

Debate:

LD and NPDA Debate will be offered.

Readers' Theatre (using the flexible ARTA rules) will be offered on Saturday during the UH portion of the swing.

Congress will be offered on Sunday during the LSU Baton Rouge portion of the swing.  Contestants in Congress may not enter Extemporaneous Speaking in the LSU Baton Rouge segment of the swing - and may only enter one other event in Section A of the Sunday contest.

A single division of LD Debate will be sponsored, featuring four preliminary rounds.

NPDA will be divided into Novice and Open Divisions.

NPDA debate will consist of six rounds of prelims.  The number of elimination rounds will be based upon the size of the division.
