Dear UIL Coordinator/Sponsor:

 

Begin the 2017-2018 UIL season with us at Pine Tree High School on January 12th & 13th, 2018.   We will use UIL Set A materials for Academic Events. (For Speech events please bring both Set A and B materials along with documentation. Note the date for speech events is on January 12th.)

  

EVENTS:  This contest includes all UIL events. The Academic events will be separated into large schools and small schools.  Large Schools consists of 5A and 6A and Small Schools consists of 1A thru 4A.  
  

REGISTRATION:   Please register at www.joyoftournaments.com.  If you have any questions, contact Collin Robertson by email at crobertson@ptisd.org.  For Speech & Debate questions please email Ryan Stokes at rstokes@ptisd.org.   There is a $10 fee for mailing any unclaimed medals or plaques.   Tests and student papers will be picked up after each event.  
 

DEADLINES:  We will need to have your entries in our possession by Thursday, January 11, 2018 at 4pm. You may make substitutions online after this date, but late drops will result in the loss of your entry fee.

 

ENTRY FEES: $8 per entry for the academic events.  Mail your check to Collin Robertson (payable to Pine Tree High School UIL) or bring to the registration table the day of the meet.   Sponsor packets and student schedules will be available at registration. Contest Directors will conduct a roll check in the room before the contest to handle any last minute substitutions.

 

JUDGING:  Each school will be required to provide judges.  You must supply a judge/grader for every event in which your school is entered.   


AWARDS
: Awards will be given for the top 6 places in each event.  Plaques will be given to the top performing schools based on the UIL point system. Unclaimed medals will be mailed with the packets if a $10 fee is paid with registration. Remember there will be two divisions for all academic events this year.  Division One is 5A-6A schools.  Division Two is 1A-4A schools. 

 

OTHER INFORMATION:

We will take 6 entries per school in all events with the following exceptions:

Number Sense, Calculator, Math, and Science Contests:  Unlimited entries.
Computer Applications: 3 entries 

Computer Science:  Written portion only / no programming  

Please note:  In team events the sponsor must designate the 4 students who form your team prior to testing. 

 

*******Testing for the Number Sense, Calculator, Math, and Science events will be located on the second floor of the building in the 900 hall.

             

Check-In and Hospitality Room:  
Check-In will be in the main office (New Wing) for all academic events beginning at 7:15 am. 
A hospitality room for coaches and judges will also be provided in our new Pine Tree Bistro located in the 600 hall. Breakfast and lunch will be served.  A concession stand will be available for students in the cafeteria.

 

CAFETERIA HOURS:
Saturday, January 13th the cafeteria will open at 7:15am.  This year the cafeteria will be the location for the students who are not competing in an event.
