Dear Colleagues:

 

            The Speech and Drama Department, Faculty, and Staff of Nimitz High School would like to cordially invite you and your squad to attend our 4^th TFA Qualifying tournament, The Valhalla Classic on Friday, Jan. 30- Saturday, Jan. 31.  Our goal is to provide a pleasant and quality tournament for you and your students.

 

            All TFA events will be offered, as well as, poetry and prose. There will also be novice sections in LD, and CX.  Your students may enter two events in both section A and B, but debaters may not enter in section B.  We will be offering four preliminary rounds in both varsity and novice debate along with two preliminary rounds in duet and duo interp.

 

            Registration will promptly begin at 3:00 p.m. on Friday in the front lobby of the new theatre.  Upon your arrival, we are requesting that you take your squad immediately in to the auditorium as classes willl be in session until 3:45 p.m. Please keep the contestants inside the auditorium until an announcement is made to relocate to the cafeteria. Restrooms are available in the foyer of the auditorium so there should be no reason for your students to be in the hallways while classes are in session.

 

            Parking is available on the West side of the building. Buses should park in the farthest lot near the baseball field.

 

            In an attempt to have a timely start of the competition, we are requesting that you

email or call in any late drops and changes incurred on Friday by 12:00 noon.
