Dear UIL Sponsor:

 

Lindale High School Speech/Debate Club will host a UIL Prep Tournament January 20-21  January 20 will begin at 3:30 p.m. with debate, student congress, drama, and ready writing.  All other events will be held Saturday.  Entries will be limited,so please enter early.  We are using A UIL materials except in journalism.  Please consider this when you enter and enter students who have not already taken these tests.

 

Medals will be awarded for first through third places and ribbons for fourth through sixth.  Sweepstakes trophies will be awarded to the top three schools.  There will be no team awards, only individual awards.  Schools are required to bring graders and judges for the events entered.  A map is available at this site.  All events will begin on time and latecomers will not be admitted. You must have a confirmation from joyoftournaments or you are not entered in this meet.

 

We will do all we can to run a good tournament.  Please remind your students that your school will be disqualified if a student breaks any school rules.  No smoking on campus, no food or drinks outside the cafeteria area, leave classrooms the way you found them, and courtesy to others are all rules that we expect to be followed. WE ARE SO EXCITED to have the registration and award assembly in our new Performing Arts Center.  Please remind your students NOTHING to eat or drink is allowed in our new facility. 

 

Entry fees will be $25.00 for CX, PFD, DUO, $15.00 for LD. Stuco entries $5.00. For all other events, it will be $8.00. Drops must be made by January 13.  After that time entry fees are forfeited.  Drops in debate will disqualify a school unless you call by Friday, January 20, 9:00 a.m.  Speech coaches, please bring stop watches.  You will be responsible for bringing one judge for 2 CX teams and 2 judges for 3 CX, one for LD and one for individual events. 

 

We will have a concession stand.  My students and I are looking forward to seeing you.  Pray for no snow!
