The Legacy tournament registration will close at 2:30 today. I may have some hands on computer science spots open and if I do I will allow additional teams. More on that tomorrow. Mansfield LegacyHigh School is proud to announce our third annual UIL invitational meet to be held on February 6th, 2010. We will be hosting the following events at our meet: Computer Application, Computer Science, Current Issues and Events, Prose Interpretation, Poetry Interpretation, Number Sense, Ready Writing, Informative and Persuasive Extemporaneous Speaking, LD Debate, CX Debate, Calculator Applications, Accounting, Literary Criticism, News Writing, Science, Spelling and Vocabulary, Feature Writing, Social Studies, Editorial Writing, Headline Writing, and Math.
We will use The UIL “B” contest material. Math, number sense, calculator and science will divide into 9th/10th and 11th/12th divisions. There will be a small school (1-4A) large school (5A) division for science only. To ensure our event runs smoothly, we will limit the total number of entries for journalism, computer applications, ready writing, and the speaking events. Please register early. We will close registration once we reach maximum capacity.
A hospitality room will be provided for coaches, graders, and drivers. Breakfast, lunch, and snacks will be served to the sponsors. A concession stand will be available for students to purchase food throughout the day.
Fees will be as follows: 8 dollars per student for each written event; 10 dollars per student for the extemp, prose, and poetry; 20 dollars per students for the LD Debate; and 25 dollars per team for the CX Debate. Judges are required for all events! Computer Applications, Ready Writing, Journalism, and all various debate events require knowledgeable/experienced judges. Failure to provide a debate or speech contest judge will result in a 50 dollar judge fee being imposed. This will be enforced!!!
