Gilmer High School Buckeye Academic Meet Saturday, February 25 Lisa Ray 850 Buffalo St. Gilmer, TX 75644 (903) 841-75573 Fax: (903) 843-2171 Dear UIL Coordinator/Sponsor: Gilmer High School invites you to join us for our Academic prep tournament on February 25, 2012.
EVENTS: We will use theUIL Set B materials for all tests, and we will follow the UIL conflict pattern for all academic events. AWARDS: First through sixth places will receive medals as will first place teams. REGISTRATION: Please register at http://www.joyoftournaments.com. Please mail your payment to Lisa Ray or bring payment the day of the tournament. Check in will be from 7:30-8:00 am (or upon your arrival) in the foyer of Gilmer High School. If you have questions, please contact Lisa Ray. ENTRY INFORMATION: Entry fees are $8/person. All entries are due by 3:00 Monday, February 20. After this time, substitutions may be made, but any drop after this time will result in the loss of your entry fee. JUDGING: Each school will be expected to provide judges/graders for every event you enter. Prose/ Poetry events require 1 judge for every 4 participants. We will post scores as soon as possible; more graders makes "soon" sooner rather than later. ENTRY LIMITATIONS AND NOTES: Students are responsible for bringing all necessary equipment for their events (calculators, computers, printers, CDs/flash drives, software, extension cords/power strips, etc.) Computer Applications and Journalism - limit first 20 entries. Computer Science - Only the multiple choice portion of the test will be given. All other events are limited to number of entries per event allowed at district meet and first 25 entries due to space. A concession stand will be available for the students and a hospitality room for the coaches/judges.
