
22nd Annual Crandall U.I.L. Literary Meet
The Crandall High School Speech and Debate Team would like to formally invite you to
the 22nd Annual Crandall Literary Meet to be held March 3, 2012.
We will be offering the following U.I.L. events: LD debate, CX debate, PF Debate, Informative and Persuasive Extemporaneous Speaking, Prose and Poetry, and all academic contests. All events will follow UIL rules and guidelines. This is also a North Texas Debate Association qualifying meet. Entries will be accepted online through www.joyoftournaments.com. The deadline for entries is Wednesday, February 29, 2011 at 3:30 pm. Drops after 3:30 pm on Thursday, March 1st will result in a loss of entry fee. Drops made after 3:30 pm on Friday, March 2nd will result in a drop fee that is equal to double the entry fee.
Entry Fees:
CX Debate- $30 per team
PFD/LD Debate - $20 per entry
IE’s - $15 per entry
Academic Events-$10
JUDGES
You will be required to provide the following:
PF/LD Debate – 1 judge for every (2) two entries or portion thereof
CX Debate- 1 Judge for every (2) two teams entered or portion thereof
IEs – 1 judge for every (6) six entries or portion thereof
Academic Events-1 Judge for every (5) five contestants or portion thereof
If you are unable to supply one of your required judges, you will be charged a fee of $75-100 per debate judge and $50 per IE judge you are unable to provide. Please let us know if you are unable to meet your judging requirements.
Cross-Entries
Students will be allowed to cross enter according to the schedule. Please note it is the student’s responsibility to be on time to each round, events will not be delayed due to a cross entry. A student WILL FORFEIT any round in which they are 20+ late and not cross-entered. Cross-entered students will have 20 minute cushion from the last speaker present. It is a competitors responsibility to leave rooms/adjust speaker order to compete in those events. This ensures we stay on schedule.
Awards:
All events will be awarded for the top three places. There will be a top speaker award for LD Debate and CX Debate. Also, there will be a sweepstakes award for the Top Three Teams in both academic team and speech team competitions.
