Invitational Spring Meet

 

 

Dear UIL Coordinators and Sponsors,

The Canton High School UIL program is pleased to announce we will be hosting our third annual spring tournament on Friday and Saturday, February 20^th and 21^st, 2009.

 

All UIL events will be offered. The Number Sense and Mathematics materials are written by Larry White. Mr. White writes for the official UIL mathematics events and writes for only a limited number of tournaments. Don’t miss out on this opportunity! The Calculator Applications test will be written by Leo Ramirez, Jr. Other contest materials will be from reputable vendors.

 

Another unique feature to our tournament will be the extra rounds available to all in Interpretative and Extemporaneous Speaking. All students will compete in multiple rounds. Prose and poetry will consist of two guaranteed rounds with the competitors with the lowest sum making the third final round. Extempers will be guaranteed two rounds with one round being the “blind” finals room. The goal is to give kids as many rounds as possible to help them grow as competitors and people.

 

CX and LD Debate will use the current UIL topics.

Prose and Poetry Interpretation will NOT require documentation. Students should bring both pieces.
