Dear UIL Coaches,

We would like to invite you to the Calallen High School Meet on Saturday, January 31, 2010.  Calallen High School is located at 4001 Wildcat Drive, Corpus Christi, 78410. All tests will be original vendor tests.  We will offer all UIL events including prose, poetry and both extemporaneous speaking categories. Students will need to have both categories for prose and poetry. UIL rules will be followed as closely as possible except in math and science.  Math and science events will be graded by grade levels.  Entry fees will be $8.00 per student per event.  Deadline is Friday, January 29 at 4:00.  At that time, the website on joyoftournaments will be closed.   Entry fees are nonrefundable after that date.  Additional entries may be added after the deadline if room allows.

Medals will be awarded for first through third places, and ribbons will be awarded for fourth through sixth places in both large (4A & 5A) and small (1A, 2A, 3A) school divisions.  One Overall Top Team trophy in small school and large school will be awarded in math. Twelfth-grade level in Math and Science will receive medals in places first through third and ribbons in places fourth through sixth places. In Science, first three place medals in Overall Science in both school divisions with ribbons for places four – sixth. First place medals only to the first place Biology, Chemistry and Physics in both school divisions. Medals for the first throughthird places for each grade level in science not divided by school divisions with ribbons places fourth through sixth. In all other grades, ribbons will be awarded to 1st place through 6th place in math & science divisions.  Sweepstakes trophies will be awarded to top three schools in both large and small school divisions accumulating the most points.

We will be having a concession stand in the cafeteria and request that students remain in the cafeteria when they are not testing.  Students will not be allowed to wander the halls.

Make all entries on the http://www.joyoftournaments.com/tx/calallen-uil. If you have never used this service, there are help guides to "talk you through it". You will make a master list of your students (your squad....that will stay in your school's account for four years), then enter them in the events/entries that they will be participating in and be sure to save each one of them. Call me if you have any questions. Once you are entered, it will save you a lot of time and effort each year.

We look forward to seeing you Saturday, January 31, 2010.

Sincerely,

Charlene Dietrich
