BHS Invitational Meet
January 10th, 2009
Dear Participants,
Burleson High School is proud to announce our fourth annual UIL Academic Meet to be held on January 10th, 2009. We will offer all UIL Academic, Speech, and Debate events. Please see schedule for listing.
We will use UIL set “A” contest materials. Math, Number Sense, Calculator, and Science will divide into 9th/10th and 11th/12th divisions with awards given for both.
To ensure our events run smoothly, we will limit the total number of entries for Journalism, Computer Applications, Ready Writing, and the speaking events. Please register early. We will close registration once we reach maximum capacity or 1/6/09. Visit www.JoyofTournaments.com to register.
A hospitality room will be provided for coaches, graders, and drivers. Breakfast, lunch, and snacks will be served. A concession stand will be available for students to purchase food throughout the day.
Fees will be as follows: $8 per student for each written event; $10 per student for extemps, prose, and poetry; $20 per student for the LD Debate; and $25 per team for the CX Debate.
Judges are required for Computer Applications, Ready Writing, Journalism, and all various Debate events. Further, event sponsors will be asked to help grade... similar to most meets. Failure to provide a debate or speech judges will result in a $50 judge fee for speech, and a $100 fee for debate. Please notice your fees in the "fees" tab during registration. (We will leave registration open through 1/6/09).
