Dates: 12/2/2011 - 12/3/2011

Presents:
"FOLLOW THE YELLOW BRICK ROAD"

The NINTEENTH Annual Lee R. Polk
TFA / UIL Speech and Drama Tournament

Dear Coaches and Directors,

You are invited to attend the Bay City High School Dungeoneers’ Ninteenth Annual Speech and Drama Tournament on December 2-3, 2011.  We will be following UIL and TFA tournament rules.  This is a TFA IQT. Debate Preliminaries will be offered the evening of Friday, December 2nd
.  Individual and group events, as well as debate eliminations, will be held on Saturday, December 3rd.

In inspiration of our fall musical, we hope that our tournament can help you "Follow the Yellow Brick Read" all the way to TFA State! Because we appreciate YOUR support, we will try to accomodate all of your needs, so that your students have a wonderful experience. And for the first coach who comes to TAB and sings "Somewhere Over the Rainbow", their school will be gifted with an automatic 10 sweepstakes points.

We ask that you submit entries online at www.joyoftournaments.com. However, schools with a limited number of entries may fax or mail their entry, but are asked to verify by phone.  Entries must be received no later than
noon Tuesday November 29, 2011. You will be charged for all initial entries.  We encourage you to submit your entry as soon as possible as all spaces will be filled.

Events will run on a strict schedule so that we can start the awards ceremony promptly.  There are several excellent hotels in Bay City if you need to stay overnight. More hotels have opened since last years tournament. Hotel information is included for your convenience including NEW HOTELS.  Cross-entering will be allowed, but only at the risk of the student.  Students are ONLY allowed TWO events per section.  However, students nominated for “Best All-Around” may do three events in two categories.  Debaters should NOT cross-enter in Section C, and Extempers may NOT do both extemps.

Judges will be informed to stay in their rooms, but students must check-in with their judges and tell them that they are cross-entered, in order to stay on the list.  Each school is allowed eight entries in most events, but additional entries will be considered.  However, only six entries are allowed in each debate division; please call if you want to enter more.  Also, you must provide one judge for Friday night (if bringing debaters) and all day Saturday.

So, come join us for our Ninteenth Annual Tournament in
Bay City!  We guarantee that with two days of intense competition and great fun, you'll have one of the most rewarding and most challenging tournament experiences of all your life.  We wish you the best of luck and hope to make this tournament experience an amazing time!

Sincerely,
