UIL: We Can Be Heroes The Alvin High School and Manvel High School UIL Teams proudly welcome you and your team to for a Speech and Academic Invitational Tournament on February 10 & 11, 2012. This event will take place at ALVIN High School. We will offer all academic contests EXCEPT the computer science contest. We will also offer a wide variety of speech and drama events. While the speech, drama and debate events occur on the same campus as the UIL Academic events it is important to understand that these contests are conducted separately. We do not adhere to the UIL conflict pattern when speech and academic events conflict. A student must choose one or the other. For Academics will be following the UIL conflict pattern and using a combination of UIL Set B materials and independent materials (HEXCO). All entries must be in by Monday, Feb 6, 2012. Each school must provide a grader for each event entered. Each school must provide one speech/debate judge or pay a $50 judging fee.
