THE REGISTRATION PROCESS FOR THE PA STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS IS NOW CLOSED!
PLEASE CALL ANY CHANGES TO CODIE NEVIL AT
570 - 372 - 4300
Please do not make changes by email at this point. Please call and make contact with the League Office.
There are only two ways that students can participate in our state tournament and should be registered on this website:
- Each PHSSL Member School is allowed a single entry in each of the following three events that are contested only at the State Tournament:
- Radio Announcing
- Impromptu Speaking
- Student Congress (be sure to follow deadlines for submitting Student Congress bills -- your entry in this event depends on having submitted a bill in proper form from 1/1/2012 to 2/1/2012)
All other entries MUST have qualified at one of the 14 district tournaments held throughout the state.
If you have any questions about whether your students are eligible, please call the State Office at (570) 372-4300. The fact that this website accepts your entries does not guarantee that they have met all of the eligibility requirements set up by PHSSL. Please check http://www.phssl.org for the latest rules.
Please read each page of this website carefully. It is your affirmative duty to know and observe the rules of the league.
Additional note: The deadline to register for the State Tournament was set for March 7, 2012. If you look in your January edition of the Communicator you can find this information. However, when you go on the website you will see that it states the deadline is March 20, 2012. We are asking that all schools do register by March 7, 2012. The reason for the later date on the Joy of Tournaments website is that we are aware that there will be some instances where schools will either need to make changes, or may not have approval to register by the 7th; this will allow you to go in and make necessary changes/additions accurately without having to go through extra steps and contacting the State Office. Again, please have all of your registrations completed and accurate by March 7, 2012, whenever possible. If you need to go in and complete a registration or make a change by March 20, 2012, the site will allow you to do this as the site recognizes the March 20, 2012, deadline.
Also, be advised that anything needing to be changed after 4pm on March 20, 2012 will be assessed a nuisance fee as stated in the Standing Rules of State Tournament (S19).
