Dear Fellow Forensicators: The forensics programs of the University of Oklahoma and West Texas A&M University are pleased to invite you to the 20th Anniversary Sweetheart Swing, February 12-15, 2010. This year’s theme will be ‘Mardi Gras with your Sweetheart.’ Both halves of the swing will be held in Burton Hall and the Physical Science Center at the University of Oklahoma campus in Norman.
The first half of the swing will be hosted by the University of Oklahoma. The tournament will begin on Friday with a five preliminary round parliamentary debate tournament and the appropriate number of debate elimination rounds. Then, on Saturday two preliminary rounds, semifinals (if necessary), and final rounds will be offered in all 11 AFA-NIET events. Debaters will be allowed to enter both individual events and debate in this tournament.
The second half of the swing will be hosted by West Texas A&M University. Two preliminary rounds will be offered in all 11 AFA-NIET events on Sunday. Semis finals (if necessary) and finals will also be held.
The forensics programs at West Texas A&M University and the University of Oklahoma have been preparing for what will surely be a competitive, enjoyable, and educational swing tournament. We look forward to seeing you in lovely Norman for some outstanding competition.
