Dear NSDA Coach,
We invite all NSDA members in Louisiana to participate in the qualification series for the National Tournament. This year, we are dividing the series into two different weekends. On Friday, January 20, 2017, students will compete in Congressional Debate. On March 10-11, 2017, students will compete in all other events. This website is only for the Congress qualifier. Please see our other website on JOT for information about qualifying in Speech Events, Lincoln Douglas Debate, Policy Debate, or Public Forum Debate.
Congress qualification will take place at Dutchtown HS in Geismar on Friday, January 20, 2017. This is the day prior to the regular LHSSL tournament that Dutchtown will host on Saturday.
Please read all of these pages very carefully. Whether you are a new coach or a veteran coach, there are enough differences between NSDA tournaments and regular invitationals, LHSSL, or CFL tournaments. Often, your district committee has very little flexibility with regard to the rules.
We look forward to identifying the very best in Louisiana to represent us at the 2017 National Speech and Debate Tournament in Birmingham. Please contact Greg Malis if you have any questions.
