District Debate Tournament
Dear NSDA Coach:
You and your team are cordially invited to attend the NSDA District Debate Tournament. The Congress Tournament will be held at Blackfoot HS on Thursday, February 15, 2018. Registration for Congress must be completed on this web site by 4:00 pm on February 10, 2018. The registration for the speech and debate NSDA tournament is due the same day February 10, 2018.
The Speech and Debate tournament will take place on February 16 & 17, 2018. We will register and begin the Congress event at Blackfoot HS on Thursday, February 15, 2018 and move to Snake River HS on Friday morning. The tournament will feature Policy, Lincoln-Douglas, Public Forum Debate, Humorous Interp, Dramatic Interp, Duo Interp, Original Oratory, US Extemp,Foreign Extemp, Informative Speaking, and Program of Oral Interpretation. We will follow the National Speech and Debate Association rules. It is the affirmative responsibility of all coaches to read and know the rules.
Remember that a student may enter two speech or debate events, plus congress. Students entered in policy debate may not enter public forum debate due to schedules. Public forum and Policy debaters may enter duo interp ONKY if they have the same partners for Both events. Remember, students may only enter two events. (Congress is a separate tournament and does not count as one of their events.)

The online registration deadline is 12:00 p.m. on Friday, February 9, 2018. You must register online by the deadline. The traditional paper registration with signatures is due February 10, 2018 and may be delivered by hand to the Rigby HS Invitaitonal or mailed to Dana Facer (American Falls HS, 2966 So. Frontage Road, American Falls ID, 83211).
Entries are based upon the NSDA rules be sure to read them. Each school/coach has been assigned a board member to assist you through the registration process. Please use their knowledge to assist you with registration questions or concerns.
Note that if you have a student who would like to participate on the World Debate team, that needs to be expressed on their letter of intent. Conversely, students not qualifying for nationals as determined on Saturday, and who then wish to enter the Big Questions qualifying tournament do NOT need to indicate Big Questions on any letter of intent. The tab room is as always open to coaches. Please read the page on tournament etiquette. Tournament management will be on computer with Joy of Tournaments.
