2012 DISTRICT TOURNAMENT 

Greetings Carolina West District,

 

We want to welcome all of you to the 2012 Carolina West District Tournament.  In order to utilize a more 'neutral' judge pool, the Carolina West District Committee will once again team up with the South Carolina District to host Districts together.  This year, the Carolina West District Congress tournament will be held along with the regular events.  There will be no separate weekend for congress.  We will be running our district tournament this year on March 16 and 17, 2012 at Asheville High School in Asheville, NC.    Our goal is to send the very best students in each event to the NFL National Speech Tournament in Indianapolis this year! 

 

Your first step in the registration process should be the updated District Tournament Manual.  We encourage you to print a copy for yourself and have it on hand at the District Tournament.  Most questions you may have during the qualification process can be answered directly by the Manual.  Rules for each specific event can be found in the NFL Competition Events Guide, which we also recommmend that you download and bring with you.

 

Second, every school must download a completed registration from from the [Entries] page of this website.  You may also download a completed Congress registration from and select chambers for the students based on several scenarios.  The links will appear after your registration is complete.  Here are the links to a blank District Tournament Registration Form as well as a Congress Tournament Registration form if you will be entering Congress.  These forms must be fully completed, printed, signed, and turned into District Chair Keith Pittman by March 9, 2012 (as per NFL rules).  You may hand deliver it or mail it prior to the tournament.  Please use a registered form of mail if you choose this option.  Please be aware: you must concurrently register all students and judges on this website to be entered in the District Tournament by March 9, 2012 by 4:00 PM as well.  This year, Joy of Tournaments is linked to your NFL Account.  You can print your completed District Tournament Registration Form directly from your entry page here on Joy of Tournaments.
