Southern MN NFL
Congressional Debate District Tournament 2012
Information
1. The 2012 Southern MN NFL District Congress will take place at Minneapolis Community and Technical College located at 1501 Hennepin Avenue, Minneapolis, MN 55403. Our tournament will be hosted and sponsored by the Communication Studies Department at MCTC.
2. We will be hosting in conjunction with Central MN NFL and every program needs to bring an adult coach/supervisor with that can serve as a judge in Central MN NFL. In order to make this district tournament work effectively and efficiently the two districts utilize each other’s coaches as judges.
3. All registration will take place on the Joy of Tournaments website. Just use the URL listed here and register your students on or before February 17th. The website should be up and available by Friday the 3rd of February. http://www.joyoftournaments.com/nfl/SouthernMN-sc/info.asp
4. Each participating school is allowed 2 pieces of legislation for use at the district congress on February 24th. In order to make this work for everyone to have ample time to prepare for the district congress I would like all legislation sent to me in Word format no later than Wednesday February 8th. This will allow me to put it all together and send it out to all participating programs as well as post it on the Joy of Tournaments website. 5. Remember that all students you wish to enter into the NFL District Congress must be members on record with the NFL Main Office no later than Friday February 17th.
6. Remember that Southern MN NFL doesn’t charge any entry fees for participating in the District Congress.
7. Keep in mind that you may only enter the number of students allowed by your level of members and degrees on record with the NFL on or before February 17th. The more members and degrees you have the more slots you may enter at the district congress.
8. Finally we need to have at least 8 schools entered at the Southern MN NFL District Congress in order to hold a Senate and provide the maximum opportunities for students to qualify for the 2012 NFL National Tournament in Indianapolis, Indiana. So please consider participating in the district congress on February 24th.
