NFL Coach

You and your team are cordially invited to attend the NFL District Debate and Speech Tournament.  The tournament will take place on February 18-20, 2010 at College of Idaho in Caldwell, Idaho.  The tournament will feature Policy, Lincoln Douglas, and Public Forum Debate as well as Humorous Interp, Dramatic Interp, Duo Interp, Original Oratory, US Extemp, Foreign Extemp and Student Congress.  We will follow the National Forensic League rules.  All coaches and judges need to read the rules.  Rules can be accessed at the NFL web site at nflonline.org.  Click on district tournament, and tournament manual.  All forms for registrationcan be found here as well. 

Registration deadline is Friday, February 12th.  All paperwork needs to be turned in at that time as well.    All coaches can contact one of the board members to hand in paperwork.  ( Staci Hoseley, Pat Connor, John Petti or Melinda Schulz)  Note:  you must enter online as well as fill out NFL paperwork. 

Fees:  $7.00 per IE entry; CX is $10.00, LD and PF are $8.00, Student Congress $7.00; School Fee $25.00


You must provide judges to cover your entries. If you do not have the judges to cover your entries, your entries will be dropped. As a tournament that qualifies students to nationals, we are required to use more judges than invitational tournaments use. With 3 judges required in every speech round, it is imperative that we have a large judge pool. Speech judges may also cover debate and Congress entries. However you must provide separate judges for LD, pf, and policy entries. Please note in your entry the judge's alma mater and any other schools the judge has been affiliated with in the past.

1 judge for every 5 speech entries or portion thereof.
1 judge for every 4 LD entries or portion thereof.
1 judge for every 4 public forum entries or portion thereof.
1 judge for every 2 policy entries or portion thereof.
1 speech judge/qualified parliamentarian for every school with 7 or more Congress entries.
