January 09, 2012 Dear Friends & Colleagues, Perry High School is our destination for the 2012 Eastern Ohio NFL District Tournament! On Thursday, February 16, 2012, we will meet in the Perry HS Library for our coaches' meeting and registration at 5:00 pm. It is a big help if all participating schools are represented!
Friday, February 17, we will assemble at Perry at 3:00 pm. We anticipate beginning some rounds by 4:00 pm.
The festivities will conclude on Saturday, February 18 in a marathon day of speech and debate competition culminating in the crowning of our Eastern Ohio National Qualifiers!
Because of your outstanding commitment to speech and debate, Eastern Ohio is fortunate to have earned Bonus Level 2 for this tournament. What this means is that if we have enough entries for two qualifiers in every event, we will automatically qualify three in every event. In the team events, this means we must have at least ten entries. In the individual events, we must have at least twelve entries. If we fail to achieve these levels, we will resort to the regular method based on entries per event.
Effectively, this means we gotta get at least ten (10) policy teams to the District Tournament! GO POLICY SCHOOLS!!!
Please read all of the associated webpages carefully. Be aware of all deadlines and pay all of your NFL fees! Please bring any questions, concerns or objections to our attention. We will get answers, solve problems and dispense advice quickly, honestly and freely!
Kindly notify me if you are unavailable for a tournament duty assignment.
On a personal note, I encourage all of our programs to consider participating at this tournament. The NFL District Tournament is, in my opinion, one of the most exciting tournaments that your competitors can attend. It is fair and it is above board. Every year, students from “smaller” programs find their way to NFL Nationals!
The District Committee and I appreciate all that you folks do for us! Let's have a GREAT 2012 Eastern Ohio NFL District Tournament!
