2ND ANNUAL PECKING ORDER TOURNAMENT INFORMATION Welcome
to the Second Annual Pecking Order Speech Tournament to be held Saturday,
December 10, 2011. We will be offering
an individual sweepstakes for students entered in at least three events. In
order to allow for quadruple entries (no more than two events per flight), we
are offering a double flighted tournament with a
total of 10 events including impromptu. We ask that extemp and OID participants
do not double enter in that particular flight. Please provide 1 judge for every
5 entries. Any uncovered slot will be $15. Judges must be available for
finals. Please provide stopwatches for your judges. The entry fee is $7 per
event with group events counting as a single entry. While our tournament has no entry limits,
please be aware that we will need your judges to cover these entries, and there
is a possibility that your students may hit one another during preliminary
rounds if we encounter larger entries. ENTRIES ARE DUE BY TUESDAY, DECEMBER 6TH, AT 4

will be awarded for 1st-3rd placement in preliminary rounds, medals will be
awarded for 2rd-6th finals placement with trophies for the champion in each
event. Team sweepstakes trophies will be awarded to the top 3 schools.
Individual sweepstakes trophies will be awarded to the top 3 competitors. We
will also be recognizing the Top Novice in each event with a medal. We will
break ties based on 1) Judges preference, 2) Reciprocals, 3) Total Points. There
will be a fully stocked concession stand and judge’s lounge throughout the
tournament. Creighton
Prep is located on the northwest corner of 72nd & Western Ave. If your team
is coming in from 72nd Street please completely pass the school and take the
winding road off Western to the west entrance of the building. You will find
the spacious main entrance to the Sullivan Center student commons and activities
center has ample parking nearby. Do not continue North
as that is the Leahy athletic complex and other activities are scheduled for
that building. Once you enter the Sullivan Center you will see our registration
table. There should be ample bus, van and auto parking in the west parking lot.
Please DO NOT park in the east lot
overlooking the athletic field in that other activities will be utilizing
those spaces. We
will be following NSAA guidelines for all events except DUO interp. and impromptu.
