25th Annual Hub City Classic
Dear Speech Colleagues,
The Hattiesburg High School Forensic Department is pleased to host the 25th Hub City Classic Speech and Debate Tournament. Consider this your special invitation to attend Friday and Saturday, February 3 and 4, 2012, on the Hattiesburg High School Campus in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.
Hattiesburg High School Forensics is proud to annouce that the Hub City Classic is a Tournament of Champions bid school for the National Individual Events Championships to be held in Union City, California, May 11-13, 2012. Please visit www.nietoc.com for additional information.
We are also pleased to announce that Ms. Barbara Garner, past Texas Forensic Association Director of Congress will again be directing our sessions which include instruction, prep, and four hours of floor debate. Congressional Debate will be held in the Dome on the Hattiesburg HS campus. Please remember that students may not cross-enter in speech events and Congressional Debate on Saturday.
The staff of Hattiesburg HS Forensics is proud to announce the addition of a TOP PERFORMER award which has been named after former Director of Forensics Michael Marks. The "Alphonse Award" will be presented to a student that accumulates the most sweepstakes points. Students must be entered in at least three events to qualify for consideration. All events count towards the award.
The Hub City Classic has hosted schools from California, Kentucky, Iowa, Nebraska, Colorado, South Carolina, Florida, Alabama, Texas, and Louisiana over the past few years.
The Hub City Classic will offer Policy Debate, Lincoln-Douglas Debate, Public Forum Debate, Congressional Debate, and the following Individual Events:
